You will be met by your local guide in Quito International airport and transfered to your hotel. Note: If you arrive early, excursions to local attractions can be arranged.
After breakfast you will visit the Colonial area of Quito.We will pass through the 12 of October Avenue up to the Culture House and the legislative Palace (Congress) where you can apreciate the history of Ecuador through the famous rock mural.
The tour will then continue through the Gran Colombia Avenue to the Basilica Church. After visiting the church you will head to “San Juan Mirador Monument” and enjoy breathtaking views of this colonial part of Quito.
After a snack we will drive for approximately 45 minutes to the north of Quito to the middle of the world :latitude 0º 0 0” where you will be able to stand in the northen and southern hemisphery. This monument was built during XVII century when a French Expedition precise the location of the Equatorial Line.
Your day will begin with an early morning transfer to the Quito airport and a flight to San Cristobal Island, Galapagos. You will be met by our Naturalist Guide and local staff and transferred to your hotel.
After lunch in one of the local restaurants you will visita an Interpretation Center where your guide will inform about the human and natural history of the Islands. After, we will walk to Frigate Bird Hill where you will be able to observe frigate birds, blue footed boobies, pelicans and snorkel with sea lions and colorful fish.
The day begins with a short boat ride to sea lión Island observing along the way abundant sea birds life that Galàpagos is renowed for. Here we will snorkel/swim with playful young sea lions and sea turtles. Then we will continue to Kicker Rock, the remains of a tuff cone rising vertically 150 metres out of the sea. Here we will snorkel with manta rays, turtles and possible with harmless Galàpagos sharks. After, we will head to Puerto Grande beach one of the most beautiful beaches in the Island where we will have lunch on the boat and return to port late in the afternoon.
We will departure early in the morning for a two hours boat ride to Punta Pitt. To the north side of San Cristobal. Where we will see red footed boobies. then we will snorkel around Pitt islet.
In the afternoon we will disembark in with hill beach. One of the most beautiful beaches in San Cristobal.
After breakfast we will motor for about two hours to Floreana Island where our first stop will be around Enderby Rock where you can admire a large colony of frigate birds and swallow tail gulls and many other sea birds that nest on this rock after that we will stop around Champion Rock one of the best snorkelling places in Galapagos where you can see colorful fish and play with sea lions afetr that we will motor to Velasco Ibarra Port . After lunch in a local restaurant we will drive to the highlands of Floreana where you will see the caves where pirates and first settlers once lived and admire the beautifull view from the top of the island after this visit we will return back to Santa Cruz Island.
After breakfast we will take a prívate bus and drive to the highlands of Santa Cruz where we will be able to walk through the famous underground lava tunnels. These tubes were formed thousands of years ago by the solidiftying of the outside skin of lava flows.
From there you will travel to the edge of the Chato Tortoise Reserve where you will be able to observe giant tortoises in a semi wild environment. They are not difficult to spot and usually spend most of their time bathing at the large ponds. After lunch we will trek to Tortuga Bay 2km. south west of Puerto Ayora, along a trail dotted with Opuntia Cacti which are endemic to the Galapagos. Tortuga Bay is a beautiful, long, white fine sand beach. We will walk to the west end of the beach to a sheltered lagoon where we can kayak with sea turtles and reef sharks or swim. Afterwards we will return to Puerto Ayora for the evening where after dinner you can enjoy the nightlife of this town.
In the morning after breakfast we will drive to the Twins(Sink Holes) where you will be able to apreciate two craters formed after the collapsing of magma chambers.Then we will continue to the north side of Santa Cruz and cross over to Baltra Island where the airport is located for your flight back to Quito.
